This Disclaimer Policy governs the use of the ZedWed matchmaking platform ("Platform," "App," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge and accept the limitations, exclusions, and user-responsibility principles set out below. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.
1. No Guarantee of Matches or Outcomes
The Platform facilitates introductions, recommendations, profile discovery, and communication between users, but does not guarantee that any match, reply, friendship, relationship, engagement, marriage, or other personal outcome will result.
Success in matchmaking depends on personal choices, independent judgment, off-platform conduct, timing, honesty of users, and circumstances beyond the Platform's control. The Platform makes no guarantee or warranty regarding availability of matches, responsiveness of users, relationship success, emotional outcomes, or personal compatibility.
2. AI Systems and Automated Recommendations
The Platform may use automated tools, algorithmic systems, compatibility analysis, ranking methods, recommendation systems, summarization tools, or other AI-assisted features to support profile discovery, matchmaking, compatibility insights, or related platform functions.
Such systems are limited tools intended to assist the user experience. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unsuitable, or based on imperfect, changing, user-supplied, or inferred information.
Accordingly:
- automated or AI-assisted outputs do not constitute guarantees, factual certifications, or assurances of compatibility, suitability, intent, honesty, safety, or outcome;
- users must not rely exclusively on automated or AI-assisted outputs when deciding whether to communicate with, trust, meet, pay, travel for, or otherwise engage with another user; and
- the Platform shall not be liable for disappointment, reliance losses, personal decisions, or adverse consequences arising from the use of automated or AI-assisted recommendations or outputs.
3. Scope of Verification
The Platform does not guarantee the accuracy, identity, background, intentions, marital status, financial position, legal compliance, character, or safety of any user.
The Platform may, at its discretion, use limited identity, document, account, liveness, fraud-prevention, or moderation-related checks to support authenticity and platform integrity. Any such checks are limited in scope and do not constitute a guarantee, certification, clearance, endorsement, or assurance of any user's identity, background, criminal history, financial standing, health status, intentions, or future conduct.
Users remain solely responsible for exercising due diligence before communicating with, meeting, traveling for, or otherwise engaging with another user.
4. Accuracy of Information
The Platform does not independently confirm all profile details, uploaded content, photographs, representations, statements, or omissions made by users. Profiles, messages, images, verification submissions, and other user-supplied materials may be incomplete, outdated, edited, misleading, deceptive, or false.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform, its owners, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for false, misleading, incomplete, manipulated, or fraudulent information provided by users, or for any consequences arising from reliance on such information.
Users are solely responsible for the truthfulness, legality, and accuracy of the information they provide and may be held responsible for claims, losses, or liabilities arising from their own misrepresentations, misconduct, or unlawful acts.
5. User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for:
- the information they share;
- the decisions they make;
- the relationships or interactions they pursue;
- any off-platform meetings, travel, communication, or exchanges; and
- compliance with all applicable laws and safety precautions.
Users are strongly encouraged to exercise caution, independent judgment, and due diligence when engaging with others, whether online or offline.
6. Third-Party and User-to-User Risks
The Platform shall not be held liable for the acts, omissions, content, representations, products, services, or conduct of third parties, including but not limited to users, advertisers, payment providers, linked external services, mobile-money operators, banks, technical vendors, or other service providers.
Any dispute or claim arising from a user's dealings with another user or a third party must be resolved directly with the relevant person or entity, except where non-waivable law provides otherwise.
The Platform shall not be responsible for fraud, scams, impersonation, extortion, or financial losses resulting from user interactions. Users are strongly advised never to send money, disclose banking credentials, share OTPs, provide mobile-money account access, or reveal sensitive financial information to other users.
7. Health, Safety, and Conduct
The Platform does not conduct comprehensive criminal background checks, psychological assessments, medical screening, STI screening, or broad safety clearance of users.
Users are responsible for protecting their own physical, emotional, psychological, and financial safety. Users are strongly encouraged to meet others only in safe and public settings until trust has been independently established.
The Platform disclaims liability for harassment, abuse, stalking, assault, coercion, exploitation, defamation, fraud, scams, or other harmful conduct arising from user interactions, whether on or off the Platform.
Users should promptly report suspicious, abusive, or dangerous behavior through the Platform's available reporting or support channels.
8. Age Restriction
The Platform is intended only for individuals aged 18 years or older. By using the Platform, users represent and warrant that they meet this minimum age requirement.
The Platform may use age-related or identity-related checks, but does not guarantee that all minors, false identities, or age misrepresentations will be detected. The Platform disclaims liability for misrepresentation of age, subject to applicable law.
9. No Professional Advice
Information made available through the Platform, including user content, automated outputs, recommendations, compatibility insights, summaries, or other platform content, is provided for general informational and matchmaking purposes only.
It does not constitute legal, medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, financial, investigative, or relationship advice. Users should seek independent professional advice where appropriate.
Any reliance on Platform content, user content, or automated outputs is at the user's sole risk.
10. Security and Force Majeure
While the Platform may implement reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards, it cannot guarantee absolute security, uninterrupted service, or immunity from misuse, cyber incidents, fraud, outages, or events beyond its reasonable control.
The Platform shall not be liable for failure, delay, or disruption arising from events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, technical failure, internet or power outages, data incidents despite reasonable safeguards, government action, labor disruption, war, civil disorder, or third-party infrastructure failure.
11. Employee and Staff Protection
To the fullest extent permitted by law, employees, contractors, directors, officers, and agents of the Platform shall have no personal liability for claims, disputes, losses, or damages arising from use of the Platform. Any liability, if established, shall be limited to the corporate entity operating the Platform and subject to the limitations stated in this Disclaimer and the Terms of Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Zambia, the Platform, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, special, or exemplary damages, including emotional distress, reputational harm, data loss, financial loss, loss of opportunity, or other downstream harm arising from or in connection with:
- use of the Platform;
- reliance on user content or automated outputs;
- interactions with users or third parties;
- identity misrepresentation, scams, fraud, or misconduct; or
- failure of any recommendation, matching, or compatibility feature to meet a user's expectations.
The Platform provides matchmaking-related services on an as is and as available basis and does not warrant compatibility, success, suitability, safety, or uninterrupted operation.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
13. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Platform, its parent company, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, damages, fines, penalties, and reasonable legal or professional costs arising directly or indirectly from:
- violation of applicable law by the user;
- breach of this Disclaimer, the Terms of Service, or any applicable Platform policy;
- misrepresentation, misconduct, unlawful use, fraud, or abuse by the user; or
- content or information posted, shared, transmitted, or relied upon through the Platform by the user.
These indemnity obligations survive suspension, restriction, termination, or expiry of the user's account to the extent permitted by law.
14. Changes to this Policy
The Platform may update or modify this Disclaimer Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated version, subject to applicable law.
15. Severability
If any provision of this Disclaimer Policy is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.
16. Integration with Other Policies
This Disclaimer should be read together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and any other applicable Platform policies. In the event of inconsistency, the Terms of Service and any applicable non-waivable law shall prevail unless expressly stated otherwise.
